Can anyone point me to any past threads (because I can't be arsed to go digging around for myself) concering Grant Morrison's influences for Division X, ie Department S, Jason King and the Sweeney?

I'm not sure where I got this from but I'm sure I remember Division X having an earlier incarnation in a failed TV pilot written by Mr Moz.

Just like you, Twig, I can't remember where I read it, but you're right: The Grant sez that DIVISION X was a TV pilot he wrote about eight years back, but it was rejected by the BBC. "Psychic detectives?" they said. "Too weird. No one will believe it."

Six months later, Fox Networks USA premiered a little show called THE X-FILES.

Personally, i jumped for joy when I first saw Regan, Carter and Jason King make it into the Invisibles. King especially - author, playboy and secret agent. A floppy haired fancy Dan, camp as Christmas but with a sex-kitten on each arm and an ice-pack on his forehead after too many Martinis. Flint and Harper, too - The Sweeney was crying out for a skewed 90s makeover and this is it. Did The Sweeney make America, by the way?

Sweeney! - the film was on Scottish Television (thats regional ITV in Britain) last night. Farkin great!

It was pretty weird to see Harper and Flint utilising their cover personalities so effectivley. Also, just to see the mastery of Grant's dialogue and coreography of their actions replicated so accurately in comic book form is impressive.

Shut it!
