Waddam, you said, "The eschaton is understood by the Outer Church as destruction, annhilation etc." But don't forget Quimper's speech to KM and Roger at the start of 2.19 when he talks about the Outer Church's aim as a return to unity: "You forgot you were parts of a machine. Because of your forgetting the machine is inefficient."

"Individuality is the name you give your sickness."

I always thought this was the earliest, clearest explanation of the fact that the Outer Church and the Invisibles were actually aiming for the same things, perceived differently.
