It's the last issue. It's gotta be something profoud, right?

I'm voting for a solid white cover. No title, no issue number, no vertigo logo or bar code.

A few other suggestions that would be bloody cool:

  • A mirror cover. Depending on the outcome of the series, this might actually be more appropriate than the blank badge.
  • A negative version of the hand grenade logo. (maybe missing the pin?)
  • An incredibly complex "cast of characters" cover done by the brilliant Mr. Bolland, similar to the promo poster he did for Wizard magazine a few years ago.
  • A real black and white photo of Grant Morrison standing over the corpse of King Mob.

Any other suggestions?
How 'bout four different covers for four different endings?

Hee hee...I have a copy of it.

All of the above theories are fine suggestions, but incorrect.

If my interpretation of the cover is correct, it's fucking brilliant.

BAJ: Thank God, I was afraid we would see the completely blank cover. I had this vision of myself going into the comic store, seeing the white cover, and screaming "Oh my God, it's Zero Hour!!"

And it's a cover that can be interpreted? Brilliant!

Well, as far as interpretation goes, it's not an abstract image or anything, and I doubt it's intended to provoke subjective response; but rather than being merely a drawing of the characters or somesuch thing, it's an image that, if I am correct, has mythological connotation...

It's great, trust me.

But for the numeral "1". I appreciate that the design motif for Vol. 3 was to incorporate the issue number somewhere in the cover art, but in this case I think it's a wee bit overbearing.

Well, I suppose a phoenix (given KM's dreams about fire), the hand of god, or a dreaming Buddah would be appropriate, though I hope they include Barbelith in there somewhere. ;-)

The '1' will be a raised middle finger, probably Grant's.

Grant's Hand of Glory, making a second cover appearance?

Alternatively, 'ONE' being an anagram of 'NEO', it might be good ol' Keanu...

Or Brian Eno, I s'pose.
